There have been many Dragon Ball games in the past with mostly being straight-up action games in which stories were...
Best Games of 2019 The ultimate list
Have you played them yet?
Even if you are just a casual gamer, you will notice right away that 2019 hasn’t been the best year in terms of games released. Still we got see a few really good games though not so good to feature in our game of decade list. Here are the best 10 games of 2019 that you can try your hands on if you haven’t already.
If you have played anyone of them, let us know your views in the comment section.
SEKIRO: SHADOW DIE TWICE
Like all soul games, it was challenging and makes you work hard for your progress into the game. It rejuvenated soul games in such a wonderful way as this was the boost which soul games required to walk into the new decade.
It showcased Sengoku-era Japan of the late 1500s in an engrossing way. The storyline of a lone warrior revenge story was enough to hook me to this game for hours. It was hard and unforgiving but also feels rewarding as you move forward. It was a work of art that showcased the brilliance of ‘soul’ games.
This game is arguably The Best games of 2019.
RESIDENT EVIL 2
Remakes are always tricky as what had worked in the past might not get the same reaction as they did before. But by remaking Resident Evil 2, Capcom has shown that classics never fail. It is a masterpiece in the survival horror genre. With you making your way through creepy RCPD headquarter with Mr X on your tails and the music terrifying you as he gets closer.
Just like any great survival horror game, Resident Evil 2 will make you feel terrified, scared and unnerving at all times making you think something/someone is waiting for you around the corner.
It is the weirdest (in a positive way) game I played this year.
Seeking answers inside Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) headquarters aka Oldest House (weird). Playing as Jesse who is the newly appointed director of FBC you go on exploring FBC headquarters to understand its mysteries. But as you try to understand these mysteries you unlock powers which lets you proceed to new areas with more mysteries.
You’ll have to play this one to understand its brilliance. Words are not enough to make you understand this strange shooter-puzzle-psychic game.
This game was a wonderful surprise this year. It took me some time to get used to the control but once I got the hang of it there was no stopping me. You find yourself on a planet which is about to be destroyed as its sun is about going supernova and kill everyone. All this will happen in 22 minutes. Now you’ll have to figure out where you are what is going on and how to get out. But you are also stuck in a time loop which lets you complete the 22 minutes repeatedly trying to learn new things every time.
This one will keep you in the loop.
DEVIL MAY CRY V
I’m in love with the DMC series. And its new instalment in the series makes my love for it grow even stronger. DMC 5 is a fast-paced demon-slaying action arcade game with great theatrics. It ties some loose ends as you progress into the game. If you like hacky slashy fast-paced action game you’ll play this one for hours.
Ready cut some demons?
BABA IS YOU
Baba is You starts simple but quickly turns into a real brainteaser. It follows four simple rules: Baba Is You, Flag Is Win, Wall Is Stop, and Rock Is Push.
As the baba — an adorable bunny-like creature — the goal is to push aside rocks and touch the flag to complete a level. That is until you find out you can change the rules of the game as every word on the screen is a movable tile. It gets difficult quickly but that won’t stop you from playing it again and again.
I was sceptical about this game on its release as I’ve been playing PUBG and Fortnite for so long. What new things will this battle royal game will offer? But all my doubts were gone in my first game. This game gives more emphasis on teamwork.
You can have your unique style of play but still playing with your team will give more favourable results. With characters having their unique backstories gives you an extra element to choose a character. It makes the game more interesting. If you have not played it yet call your friends and play it today.
FIRE EMBLEM: THREE HOUSES
- Release date: July 26
- Platform: Switch
- Gameplay Time: 200+ hours (all treehouses)
- Genre: Tactical role-playing
- Developers: Intelligent Systems, Koei Tecmo
Fire Emblem: Three Houses was like a breath of fresh air. It has incorporated a school system that will keep you emotionally invested in it as you’ll have to think about your soldiers and the threat of losing a character with whom you have emotionally connected.
You’ll be willing to sacrifice your life to save a character. It offers everything you want from a Fire Emblem game but its school system adds in a unique quality to it. It will take you multiple walkthroughs to grasp everything as I’m on my 3rd time right now.
POKEMON SWORD AND SHIELD
- Release date: November 15
- Platform: Switch
- Gameplay Time: 30-40 hours
- Genre: Role-playing
- Developers: Game Freak
There have been so many Pokemon games over the years. New places and pokemon have been introduced into the series but mostly it has been the same. But what Sword and Shield have done is that it has brought the life back into the series with more epic battles in stadiums with fans screaming for you, team building is more fun and challenging rivals to name a few.
The map is also quite big which provides more roaming are and more chances to bond with the team while making a journey. It felt very fresh while playing and gave me the chance to be a pokemon master once again.
THE OUTER WORLDS
Obsidian Entertainment developed a gem last year with an intriguing storyline, exceptional character building, redefined gameplay and more.
They showed that they are better without Bethesda ties. The choice system in the game was very well incorporated. It could make you feel good or bad about you depending on the choices you make while progressing. The writing was brilliant as it gave you a perfect sci-fi game experience mixed with various emotions.
These were the top games of 2019 according to us. Which game was best among them according to you?
